About Us

Oakshaw Trinity Church (OTC) came into being in 1991 and was considered complete in 1994 when a further congregation joined the existing Church.  Find out more about our history here

OTC represents the desire of the four congregations to seek and serve Christ jointly rather than separately.  The four separate congregations began working together in the early 1980’s and that led to the opening of the original Wynd Centre in 1984 - a centre for coffee, conversation and worship - and as the host to a variety of community organisations.

Our Mission and our Constitution is unique because it makes us part of two denominations.  The remarkable feature of this Union was that it was driven by the congregations.  Consequently, OTC is in membership of both the Church of Scotland and the United Reformed Church.

Oakshaw Trinity Church, in common with all Churches, exists to proclaim the good news of Christ in our place and context.

“Proclamation” consists not only of regular worship, but service to, and presence in, the community, by which signs others see something of Christ’s Kingdom.

Oakshaw Trinity Church is committed to care for people in pastoral need, to provide an opportunity for worship and fellowship, and to empower individual members for witness and service.

We have a sincere view that this must underpin what we do, individually and collectively in our Witness, work and worship.
