There have been Christians worshipping in our parish since the 8th Century AD. The Church (the former High Church) was build in 1754.
With such a history, and the more recent vision of our elders, some of whom are still part of the driving force, for outreach in the town centre in the form of the Wynd Centre and eventually one of the first Ecumenical Unions in Scotland, we need to ensure we build on these foundations. We are a strong and vibrant presence in our commitment to the community and many of us give generously of our time and talents, but like individuals money is also an essential of the Church's life. Our Christian giving helps the Church to be the Church in Paisley town centre, in Scotland and across the world.
WE are the Church and so it is up to us. If God were to challenge us on our giving, how would we answer? Please give this some prayerful thought.
The following sections are intended to give you some detail about where our money comes from, where it goes to and what it does. The Session and the Management Committee make decisions on your behalf about how the money should be spent. But of course there are many more good ideas than there are pound notes!
Those of us who are members took vows when we joined the Church. It is so easy to forget what we promised then - here's a reminder of those vows:
"Do you promise to give a fitting proportion of your time, talents
and money for the Church's work in the world?"
